In place of a normal Exploring Items article this week, I instead present an entry into our creative works, Ode to a Character Class, an assortment of eleven haiku each centered around one of the PHB base classes.

for your enjoyment
here are eleven haiku
fresh from the wizard

-----

twisting tales and prose
the bard recounts distant quests
for a drunken crowd

broad red-stained greataxe
fells great beasts with scant few blows
barbarian's friend

cure serious wounds
from yellow dawn to red dusk
temple cleric's life

walking the green wood
defending nature's balance
druid's happiness

red dragon slayer
seeks assorted hero types
fighter lfg

the calm quiet soul
exudes peace to all nearby
monk's serenity

amidst fallen leaves
gray paladin seeks justice
twilight of his life

hunting foul quarry
abomination beware
the ranger draws near

slipping through shadows
toward a priceless treasure
the rogue plies his trade

arcane mastery
fueled by the blood of dragons
sorcerer's power

old and dusty tomes
contain words of ancient strength
studious wizard
