Star Wars d20
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, four sages sat around a circular table and discussed matters of grave importance. After hours of debate, one sage decided action was required. Thusly, he lifted a cube from the table and dropped it. "I got a 6," he said. "Thou art a fool," said another. "Use the Force!... of a 20-sider. Star Wars went d20 six years ago."

That's how I heard it happened, anyway. Once upon a time, there was a d6 Star Wars RPG made by West End Games, and now there's the d20 Star Wars made by Wizards of the Coast. I haven't played RPGs long enough to compare the two, but the Star Wars d20 system is easily as much fun as a game of Dungeons and Dragons, as long as you're a fan. Players unfamiliar with the Star Wars universe usually take some time to get used to the culture and technology of that world.
